POLICY DIALOGUES AND SENSITISATION FORUMS

CRIA contends that well-informed state and non-state stakeholders can strengthen and accelerate implementation of regional and continental integration policies. Policy dialogues and sensitisation forums that foster inclusive and participatory discussions encourage proactive engagement. Towards this end, the Centre has established two interface platforms:

a) The Regional Integration Issues Forum (RIIF); and the

b) Integrate Africa Seminar Series on Trade and Continental Integration.

REGIONAL INTEGRATION ISSUES FORUM (RIIF)

RIIF Logo

CRIA established the Regional Integration Issues Forum (RIIF) in 2017, in partnership with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF). The RIIF is an inclusive and participatory platform that facilitates much needed interface between policymakers and multisector stakeholders of regional and continental integration processes. The RIIF seeks to promote awareness, build knowledge, and generate consensus on the need to make well-informed policy choices and recommendations for harmonising national and regional plans and arrive at development strategies for domesticating the continental integration agenda.

THE RIIF OBJECTIVE

The RIIF seeks to strengthen the all-important engagement of state and non-state actors in the implementation of regional integration policies.

INTEGRATE AFRICA SEMINAR SERIES

CRIA’s Integrate Africa Seminar Series on Trade and Continental Integration is a platform of conversational presentations by very experienced development practitioners and experts engaged in Africa’s trade and continental integration processes. The Seminar Series offers a platform for academics, policy makers and multi-sector stakeholders to critically engage in policy discussions on African trade; market integration; production integration; infrastructural integration; movement of people goods and services; gender, youth & trade, financial systems and monetary union; etc. The Seminar also provides the Centre an opportunity to explore areas for research, capacity building and/or advocacy to boost intra-African trade and to accelerate continental integration.
